My Bestowal Item

“We’re going to get a special treat” my grandma said to my sister and I as my mom drove to this “place.” My sister and I looked at each other wondering where we were going when at last, we appeared in front of a building, “Build a Bear.”
This was complete heaven for a five year old as we opened the door to the building. My face lit up as I saw everywhere lined with toys and bright colors. The animals waved hello as I looked around. A lady with a blue shirt and khaki pants assisted us and told my sister and I to put on these bright colored neon yellow helmets. “Are you guys ready to build your bear?” she asked us in a cheery manner. ”Yeah!” we replied as we headed through a door.
“First” the lady instructed, “you must pick the animal you want.” “When you have picked your animal, let me know.” The room was lined with stuffed bears, bunnies, owls, cats, and dogs. My sister choose a dark brown bear while I was suddenly appealed to a snow white rabbit. This was the perfect look for my animal.
“Next” the lady told us,” I am going to fill your animal with stuffing.” She led us to a machine with cotton as soft as a cloud inside. She handed us each a bead heart and told us” whisper a wish or saying of how you love your animal. This wish or saying will be in your animal forever. Me, being mesmerized by what she said, took the cold metal bead, cupped it in my hands, held it up to my mouth, and whispered very softly, “I love you” and handed the bead to the lady. My sister had finished too and had also handed the bead to the lady. “Ok! We are ready to stuff the animals!” once again said in a cheery tone. We headed over to two machines (plastic by the way) that were filled to the max with snowy white cotton. “So, you want the rabbit and you want the bear” she said pointing at us as we nodded our heads. She took our animals and placed them each under the machine. EEEEEEERRRRR! The machine said as it filled the animals. When the animals were half filled in each, she placed the little metal heart beads in each, and filled up the rest of the animal. She handed us our stuffed animals and said, “Okay! Now you’re ready to dress your animals!’
We headed through a red door and I saw row by row shirts, pants, gowns, belts, shoes, socks, hats, necklaces, and jewelry. My sister and I looked at each other in an excited way and rushed to the clothes, skimming, touching, and even smelling the clothes. Finally, I came to a silky white wedding dress with a veil and white shoes. This was perfect for the animal since it was white itself. I carried the clothes to the lady. “Is that your choice?” I nodded my head.  “How beautiful!” she replied.  At the same time my sister brought up an outfit and we carried our new animals to the checkout. As my grandma paid, my mother asked “Did you have fun?” I nodded my head up and down while combing my fingers through the hair of the rabbit, completely enjoying my new treat.
